Coach Crombie has been with the Mudcats since 2006 first as a player, then named head coach and scheduling coordinator in 2013. Prior to that he served as the co-head coach and assistant to Shawn Scibek. Coach Crombie graduated from Will C. Wood HS in Vacaville Ca and went on to play collegiately as a middle infielder at Shasta College and Point Loma Nazarene University in California. Following his playing career he chose to pursue the completion of his Bachelor's Degree from Sacramento State.
Nick has been with the Mudcats since 2006. Nick graduated from Will C Wood HS and played on the first ever Championship baseball team in school history. Prior to Enrolling at San Jose State University Nick injured his throwing shoulder and decided to attain his Bachelor's Degree and teaching credential and return to the field as a coach. Nick returned to Will C Wood to teach and coach baseball in 2005 and is currently their head baseball coach, guiding the team to their first league championship since his playing days.
Chris graduated from Armijo HS and went on to play infield collegiately at Napa Valley College and UC Davis. After his collegiate career Chris went on to attain his Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from Sacramento State University. Chris is also a lifelong Mudcat spending 15 seasons with the team. His love for the Mudcats has led him to continue to give back to the game as head of our treasurer, board member and grounds crew member.
Sci, as he is better known by, co-founded the Mudcats in 1990. Coach Sci served as the player-head coach and then head coach for the first 22 years of the program's existence. After graduating from Armijo HS he had a successful college career at Solano College. Sci has coached high school baseball in Solano County for over 20 years, most recently, Sci joined Ex-Mudcat Ryan P. Adams as an asst. coach at Vanden High School. Coach Sci is Sports Turf Management Certified (Master Grounds Keeper) and makes sure our field is always game ready.
Dan has been with the Mudcats for four years and is the face of the Mudcats within the community. Dan works diligently within the community alongside our sponsors making sure that the Mudcats remain viable and our partners get the recognition they deserve for their support and donations to our organization. Dan also is currently serving as our travel coordinator.
Coach Matlock is a graduate of Armijo HS where he played baseball and later attended Solano College. Coach Matlock joined the staff in 2014 and serves as our first base coach. Coach Matlock is also a member of the staff who works diligently alongside Coach Sci to ensure that our facilities are ready for each home game.
Coach Clary came on board as a Mudcat coach in 2018 but is no stranger to the Mudcat Family. Coach Clary played baseball at Vacaville High School and went on to play at the University of Willamette where he was a very successful two-way player (Pitcher and First Basemen) and Team Captain. While attending Willamette University, Coach Clary played his summer baseball with the Mudcats (2013, 2014, and 2015). Coach Clary was voted 2014 Team Offensive MVP and in 2015 was Team Defensive MVP, only Mudcat in History to win both awards. Gordie will be a huge asset to the organization.
Sean or SP as he is better known has been with the Mudcats since 2013 and is our go to man for field prep, glove repair and game day coordinator. SP does everything under the sun on game days to make sure that everything runs smoothly. He's served as a board member for the last three years and is our go to guy when the Mudcats need something done on short order.
Jared is returning to the Mudcats in 2019 as Pitching Coach. Jared a former Mudcats himself (2013-2015) finished his playing career at Holy Names University and went on to Oregon State to attain his Master's Degree.
Brittany joined the Mudcats in 2013 as part of our game day production staff. Starting in 2019 she will take on a larger roll as a Board Member and Game Day Operations Manager. Brittany makes sure that everything outside of the white lines runs smoothly and provides our fans and visitors with an enjoyable family friendly experience.
